“God works in wondrous ways. He creates many roads to the Mission, and one of those ways is court-mandated treatment. This is exactly what brought Levy to the New Life Program, and it turned out to be exactly what he needed. Here's his story.
“I was born and raised right here in the Airport. My mom told me I was a miracle baby, being that I was born five months premature. I was brought up in a good family; however, when I was 13 years old, I got arrested for the first time for tagging. Then I got into weed. So my parents moved us to Columbia. It wasn’t long before my life took a turn for the worse. I got heavily into drugs. I struggled with meth since I was 19. This led me to homelessness, and by the time I was 25, I was living in a cave. This was my existence for a long time. I ended up coming to the Mission because of jail. My ex-girlfriend had me arrested, and I was facing two years in prison, but they offered me a program and I took that option. For 20 years of my life, I was satanic, but I came here to the Mission and was completely transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am now a firm believer! I just got involved with Volente coffee and am no longer held down by my bondage.”
