“I was abandoned by my mother as a baby. Sexually abused as a child and picked on at school. I didn’t believe in a loving God when I was growing up. I started using drugs at the age of 12. I was incarcerated as a juvenile delinquent, sold drugs, and reveled in my life of sin. Since coming to the Modesto Gospel Mission my life has been full of joy and peace. Something I knew nothing about in my previous lifestyle. God has healed my broken heart and my life is now marked by a peace that surpasses understanding. My goal for the future is to continue being plugged into a Godly community. I hope to one day enroll in college and pursue a career in software engineering. I also want to have a family of my own someday and teach them all about Jesus and what He has done for me.”
We are so excited to get to walk alongside Blake on his journey! Currently, Blake is a part of our Volente Coffee Program and learning the skills associated with the coffee industry! He is an example to other men that walk through these doors and is a joy to be around. Keep following Christ, and keep it up, Blake!
